150th anniversary of the London Underground

 

The British news has been filled this week with news (and some celebrations) due to it being the 150th anniversary of the London Underground.

 

The London Underground is also known as the Tube and is the network of trains that runs under London as a transportation system.

 

So you might hear it called the Tube, the Underground, the London Tube or the London Underground.

The Tube map is very recognisable for its shape and colours. There are now 11 lines and each one is shown in a different colour.

 

It is the oldest subterranean railway in the world. If you plan to visit or live in the UK, and especially London, it is a good idea to read more about it below:
