New York: home of many languages

Below I am posting a BBC article about the presence of languages in New York, USA. If you take the time to read it, you can pick up a lot of vocabulary about foreign languages (including endangered languages and ones recently extinct) and other linguistic concepts.

UNESCO’s classification stages to measure endangered languages are:

vulnerable; definitely endangered; severely endangered; critically endangered; extinct.

So if you are interested in languages, New York might be a good place to go.
